More than just a hook September 29, 2009 Paul G. Flynn Ive been hang bikes on hooks a long, long time and tried these because they would look better and not leave as large a hole when done. Wow, wish I had know about these before. +++++
good concept, difficult to hang September 2, 2009 Marc Pearson 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
i think it's a great concept, and with my long arms am easily able to put my bike on the rack, however my girlfriend has some trouble with it. overall, i would highly recommend this to anyone.
I have five of these lined up on the wall June 19, 2009 cachehiker (Hyde Park, UT USA) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I've been a part-time bike commuter and charity rider for years and only recently bought a house. Having a garage was my number one priority as I was sick of moving bikes in and out of the storage shed. I also had to leave my primary commuter on the front porch only partially sheltered from the rain. I always wanted a decent commuter too but was always afraid of its being a target for theft.
Immediately after moving in, I started putting these up two at a time with every other one about a foot or so offset from the others. As soon as I had an open hook, I started building my dream commuter too (Whoo-hoo!) The three lightest bikes hang along the upper row and the full suspension bike and the touring bike hang a little lower to keep the handlebars and cables from getting tangled.
Take a cue from how bike shops store their bikes. I have five bikes taking up just 6 feet of wall space. There's room underneath to store the camp stove, grill, lantern, etc. that I don't like to keep inside the house as well. The only drawback is having to lift a heavy bike up high and onto the hook (Mal-Wart shoppers beware!)
As far as the earlier mention that it wouldn't handle mountain bikes, I have no trouble fitting 2.25" tires in there. If you're a downhill fanatic on 2.5" swamp monsters, your doctor has in all likelihood advised you to stop riding that way anyway.
Worthless for Mountain Bikes August 27, 2008 Carleton Wu (Colorado, United States) 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
Agree with the other reviewer who noted that- despite claiming to fit all size tires- this product does not work with mountain bikes.
Also, the screws are cheap, so when I tried to remove it from my wall I ended up having to drill the heads off of the screws.
Maybe this works great for road bikes. But Delta's advertising claims are crap, and I doubt Ill buy anything made by them again since I won't know if it will work as advertised or not.
works right, looks good July 25, 2008 Dr. L. K. (Pleasantville, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Delta Leonardo bike rack was delivered fast, went up fast, and it works. BTW, it looks good too, just like the picture.
