Product Description The Thule Frame Adaptor is the missing link that will let you mount your non-standard frame on a hitch mount rack, be it BMX, downhill or other oddball frame. The Frame Adaptor telescopes to fit any bike and uses a strong but simple push button system to clamp onto a bike's headset and seat post.

really helpfull part October 21, 2009 Claudio S. Ribeiro very helpful part for easy assembly in the rack (helium). The first product sent came in with rusted screws, so after contacting amazon they quickly replaced the product.
Bicycle Frame Adapter September 12, 2009 P. Lindsey (Knoxville, TN) Bought this to hold my daughter's bike on the Thule 961XT Speedway bike rack. Easy to use & allows the bike to be held securely on the rack. Held the bike firmly in place from Alabama to Boston.
User Review: Thule 982 Bicycle Frame Adapter for Strap/Hitch Carriers July 11, 2009 JWO (California) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I purchased two Thule 982 Bicycle Frame Adapters for Thule 964 Revolver 4-Bike Hitch Mount Rack from the Amazon retailer, Rack Attack. PROS: 1) Because of the numerous different bicycle frame configurations, it will quickly become apparent to the strap/hitch carrier user that mounting the bicycles level is difficult. Attaching the Thule 982 Bicycle Frame Adapter ends to the bike's handle bar and seat stems will make this procedure much easier. For this application, the product seems well designed. CONS: 1) One of adapters I received from the Amazon retailer had rusted bolts while still inside the packaging! However, shortly after being exposed to the ouside environment during use, all the lock bolts on both adaptors quickly rusted. At the stated MSRP, stainless steel hardware would have been the fair and better choice. 2) The rubberized coating on the metal ends of the adaptors will ultimately tear or wear down due to use, UVA exposure, etc.. As a result, the exposed metal ends of the adaptors could damage the bike's finish. Take care to protect the rubberized coating during use and storage. In conclusion, it is my opinion that the Thule 982 Frame Adaptor is both a well designed and needed accessory for the strap/hitch carrier user.
Too big for kids bikes July 9, 2009 p bear (Chicago, IL) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought two of these because my kids bikes do not have a top bar. The product description says to attach it to the seatpost and headset but since the adapter is too long, I had to attach it to the seatpost and the handle bar. The bikes rest on the carrier at a steep angle, but it still works. Just be aware of this if you have small bikes.
easy to use, works great July 7, 2009 girls can tell (philadelphia, pa United States) this simple attachment does exactly what's it's supposed to. it works well and fits my frame as it should.
